Rug Braiding Classes

Classes on How To Braid an Adirondack Style Rug

Take a rug braiding class with master rug maker, Helen Condon. Classes are held in the studio
(the former dance hall of the Parishville Grange).

There are a few options for rug braiding classes:

August 26 and 27, 2010: "Making Braided Rugs the Old Fashioned Way" at the Clayton Handweaving Museum and Arts Center. Call the Handweaving Museum at 315-686-4123 for more information or email the museum by clicking here.

ONE DAY PRIVATE CLASS
Cost: $100

This class will include:

    •  A chair pad kit in your choice of colors.
    •  The needle, twine, clamp, and printed instructions to make a chair pad.
    •  Five hours of private instruction with Helen Condon.
    •  Class hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    •  Coffee , tea and snacks will be available during the day, and a lunch will be served at noon.

The student will learn the beginning, braiding, lacing, and ending techniques that can be used for any shaped rug or basket in the future.
